Subject: RE: Urban Renewal Project - questions

Importance: Normal

Hi Ken,

I just spoke with Dan, see my answers below.

In addition, I have more detailed answers to your questions on the phone earlier.

1) Are the projects listed to be funded for design all at once? Yes, but the funding expenditures are expected to be met at given intervals. Focus will be placed the first few projects of the Project Priority list for design through construction before funding will be made available for the remainder projects.

2) Does the city expect there to be storm and treatment in the design? Yes, storm improvements will be included on the existing improved streets, and new storm and treatment facilities for the unimproved section of Heintz. Possible treatment facilities will be needed for Shaver, Hart and 3rd St. with the added impervious on the shoulders.

3) Does the City plan to include Public Involvement? Yes, there will be public involvement. Involvement of the Engineering Services will be at the City’s discretion.

4) Will 4” - ½” Dense Mix Asphalt Pavement & 12” – 1-0” Crushed Rock be the standard roadway section, or is there anticipated Geotech work? It is anticipated there will be geotech work to help determine the necessary roadway section for each project location. Molalla is known for having a high water table during months with high rainfall and clay soils.

Two questions

· Are you and Dan available to meet sometime next week? Currently I’m open all day Mon-Thurs. Yes, Tuesday or Thursday afternoon next week.

· Once a proposal is accepted, are the scope & fee locked in? Or, will the will the scope & fee be further refined and negotiated after the consultant is selected? Once the scope for each project is defined further, the proposal can be negotiated due to scope change.

Thanks

Ken
