Importance: Normal

The question is.. Is the stop sign their responsibility based on the contract? The City does not maintain private signs.

Based on that info, Jen I would have PW crew look at it and determine if it needs to be taken down. Please also have them take photos and report in written form the damage it caused. Additional follow-up we can do next week.

Thanks all!

Thank you,

This happened last night when no one was here. A gentleman said he turned in the wrong direction and was in a hurry, quickly started to back up and hit the sign. It had broken the steel at the base of the sign on one side and bent the other side. Also damaging the concrete pour at the base. He propped it back up, but it is a hazard if the wind blows or it gets bumped and would fall in the street and or sidewalk at that point.

His name is Matt Zucher (unsure of spelling) and his phone number is 971-235-5437.

Hello,

There are a couple of things I need. Cecily, A brief summary of what happened and a photo of the damage. Is the sign still up?

Jen, If so, is the sign damaged enough that it needs to be taken down if it's foreseen as a hazard. I would have one of the crew members do a quick drive by to assess its condition. Jen, we need a cost estimate for a new sign, installment and post please.

These questions will need to be answered regardless of ownership which I will determine when I'm back in the office next week.

Thanks,

Sadie

Hi Cecily,

Since the stop sign is for a private exit and we typically do not maintain those, I’m going to defer to Sadie on this one since she is more familiar with your contract.

In the City’s case, we replace the sign and send a bill for materials and labor to the gentleman who damage the sign.

Sorry, I meant right of way, not easement. :)

Hello! The stop signs that are up as you exit the Center, placed on the easement, would these be our property to maintain or yours? We had a gentleman hit one of them with his vehicle and he's wanting to make it right, but I'm not sure if he should go through you or us?

Thanks!
