I am not personally aware of the septic issues in Shady Dell, but wouldn’t be surprised. There are several septic systems over 50 years old up the Molalla River and it’s tributaries from our intake. DEQ provided the map when we originally were applying for the grant.

Sorry I wish I could be more help. You might want to contact a local Septic servicer here in Molalla.

Subject: Septic System Grant

Jennifer,

If my memory is serving me well these days, it seems like there was concerns raised about the condition of some of the Shady Dell neighborhood septic systems back when Molalla was in the planning stages of sewer effluent discharge to the Molalla River. Is this correct? I am trying to help DEQ in identifying target properties with areas of concern for the septic system outreach.

Any other areas that you are aware of or think we should focus attention on would be great.

Thanks,
