#1 -- Welcome to Molalla -- we hope you are getting settled in your new job.
#2 -- We are asking again for the cooperation of the City of Molalla with our Mo-Town Walk for the Cure .. scheduled this year for Saturday Sept. 20th.
Attached below is our informational flyer.
We have been holding this event for 7 -- going on 8 years now. We are asking the City Public Works department to open the gates on Molalla Forest Rd -- between S. Mathias Rd (one gate), and along the stretch between S. Molalla Avenue and Ona Way (one gate) ... this permits all walkers, strollers, bicycles and people who may have handicaps (we have welcomed walkers in wheel chairs in past years) to easily access the walk route (from Heckard Field, along Ivor Davies Trail, and then West along the Molalla Forest Rd. We have Molalla Redi-Mix open the gate on the West side of Ona Way, and continue walking crossing thru the Redi-Mix access, and NW Polymers/IMDS parking lot -- so we exit on Industrial Way .. with only a very short portion of the walk having to be on the "no sidewalk" section of Hwy. 211.
We ask for the gates to be opened by 8:30 a.m. -- and closed by 11:30 a.m. -- most participants take the free 1st Student Bus back to Heckard Field -- but we have had a few participants walk back to their cars also.
Thank you for considering this request -- we find that the normal participants (usually 100-120) are very grateful for the help from the City that makes this a very nice local way to support the fight against breast cancer.
