I do the cost is very high. I figure a ton of rock $20.00, excavation $20.00, grading & prep $5.00 , I figure $45.00 to $50.00. I think that is what the City should counteroffer them.
Well, I was out of the loop on this, I would have handled this differently and done the measurements with them on the spot to avoid all of this confusion. I propose the best way to resolve all of the remaining issues is to have a meeting with EE and discuss.

Hassan, Do you agree with this unit cost? If feel like this is extremely high compared to other contractor bids we have seen.
I have a few questions that need to be verified
· Did they include the crushed surfacing in the quantities, where was the depth measured from is the better question? For example on Stowers the crush surfacing is 1 foot, was any of that 1 included in the depth? This can be verified by rock tickets quantities for the given days on the estimate. The removal on Heintz falls under the pavement repair cross-section on Sheet C17, Detail 6. And same with the majority of Grange. Only 1” of the 10” can be paid by Over excavation.
· Do the labor hours match the reported hours and wages to Boli (I have not seen but one (1) wage report the entire contract)
· Why is subgrade fabric included if we are paying for it under Bid item B-11
· I don’t see invoices for the rock tickets or dump fees to verify unit cost price.
