Hi Larry,

I just wanted to follow up with regarding my email below.

I stopped by the culvert crossing 211 near MP 12.58 yesterday right after the rain started. It was already running pretty full. I definitely could see how the culvert can flood during long heavy rains.

Feel free to give me a call when you have time.

Take care,

Jenn

Hi Larry,

Have you heard anything regarding Rich? You are the only one who has responded to my email.

I called and left a message today on his voicemail hoping he or someone will give us a call back.

Also, I have a request regarding OR211 thru town. Now that it’s close to the rainy season we are working to clean out our storm lines and basins. I noticed the ditches and basins through town on OR211 need to be cleaned out. My public works supervisor said that this was handled by the state.

In addition, there is a trouble area where we believe the cross culvert is failing or blocked. The water tends to back up on the south side of the road and does not reach the basin on the north side. During extreme rain events the ditch over flows onto OR211. This is approximate at MP 12.58 just to east of Shaver Ave. I have attached a few photos.

Is it possible to have this work complete before heavy rains begin to hit?

Feel free to give me a call if you have any questions.

Regards,

Jennifer Cline, P.E.

Good Afternoon,

We recently understood that Rich Watanabe has left ODOT. Is there a new contact that I can follow up with regarding the email below?

I would like to continue with the plan for a short meeting in October to discuss safety improvements on OR211 and OR213 with in the city limits.

We are mostly concerned with the following areas:

· Sight Distance and intersection configuration at OR211 (Main St) and Mathias Rd, otherwise known as the “Y”.

· Speed study on WB OR211, east of Molalla from Vaughnan Rd. to Center St. for possible speed reduction and implementation of a radar speed sign for beginning of the 35 mph zone.

· Eastside sidewalk Improvements on OR 213 from Loggging Rd to Safeway.

· Intersection safety improvement at Toliver Rd and OR 213

· Pedestrian flashing light crossing on OR211 at Leroy Ave or just west of S Leroy Ave. as a possible Safe Routes to School project to Molalla River Middle School.

Look forward to working with you.

Regards,

Jennifer Cline, P.E.

Hi Jennifer,

I had heard that you had recently started with the City and I’ve been meaning to give you a call to see if some of our ODOT folks (our District Managers and myself) could meet with you. Was thinking that we could introduce ourselves, describe how we’re organized, and talk about what ODOT has planned. Will try and give you a call sometime soon.

The Mulino to Blackmans Corner project is going to bid in October which will be after the paving window ends for this year. Actual paving will likely be late spring of next year and we have put an end date in there to have it completed by June.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any specific questions regarding the project.

Thanks,

Rich Watanabe

Hi Jennifer,

Rich Watanabe is the ODOT Area Manager for this area. He will have more information on the project schedule.

Rich-can you confirm when this section of OR213 is scheduled to be paved?

Thanks,

Hi Matthew,

At the last Clackamas Co. Area engineers meeting you mention the OR 213 paving project from Molino to Blackman’s was scheduled to start construction 2015. Is this still the case? Our staff was under the impression it was going to construction this year in October.

Thanks,

Jennifer Cline
