That is my understanding.

Ok. So right now we are really talking about slowing the increase in the level of the pond, and we won't start drawing it down until later. Right?

We start using two BG’s as soon as the other sections are available per moisture block readings. The plan is to have the following:
1 Big Gun on North Coleman – ~0.5MGD daily
1 Big Gun on South Coleman – ~0.5MGD daily
Hand Lines intermittently per moisture block readings on North Coleman
Time system intermittently per moisture blocks readings at the Cemetery
Continue to irrigate at the plant

It sounds like we will need to do more than just irrigate with the one big gun then. Or am I missing something? How do we get rid of the 1 MGD?

Hi Mark,
Here’s the answer.
It takes 4-6 hours to charge the line and set the big gun. Once the Big Gun is set, we then could only irrigate for 18 hours, which equates close to 300,000 MGD. Within that 22-24 hour period of time the plant will take on approximately 1 MGD. This process will not remove enough effluent to keep up with the influent entering the system. In addition, charging, draining and recharging the system regularly is hard on the pumps and line. However, not doing anything also risks dike failure or overtopping of the Lagoons.
One lagoon will gain a foot of elevation for every 3.9 MDG. Lagoon 1 is approx.. at 12’ and Lagoon 2 was at 12’ yesterday, which is considered design capacity. By next Monday they will gain an additional 1’ or more between the two.
It could be feasible to check the sight 3-4 times in a 24 hour period with help of Coleman. Historically we have not had a ponding issue utilizing the big gun. This has only been a challenge when the hand (or static) lines have been in use.
Let me know if you need any clarification.
