That I do not know.

I will talk to Garrett about getting it tested.

Thanks,

Hi Jenn,

I believe the referenced site is correct, the design engineer needs to submit construction plans, plan review fee and LUCS and obtain approval from OHA.

As far as item 3 below, I would recommend using 6”x8” reducer and upsize the new section to 8” diameter. Is there enough fire flow or has a flow test been done on the 6” line to meet fire flow demands of 1,500 gpm?

Regards,

Hi Hassan,

See my answers below in RED.

Also, Regarding the Oregon Health Authority, is the link below correct for direction on how to about getting approval?

Hi Jenn,

Here is my comments:

1. I thought part of this line already exists? According to the plans they are constructing the entire run. The phase 1 portion of the line does already exist.

2. Prior to construction, they need approval of the plans from Oregon Health Authority. Will include comment.

3. I would not allow a pipe less than 8” in diameter regardless. The existing line is already 6”, I’m not sure what else can be done at this point

4. If existing easement isn’t in place, then a new 15’ wide waterline easement needs to be dedicated to the City. City needs to review the easement document prior to recordation. I agree, working on this

5. All pipe restraints shall be mechanical, no thrust blocks are allowed. No thrust blocks have been included in the design, however I will note that.

6. Fire department should comment on the plans. Will forward plans

7. Fire hydrant detail should be included on the plans. Will include the comment.

8. They show a water service detail but where are they proposing the installation, Garrett doesn’t like to use copper tubing on the services. I will request more info.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
