Hi Sadie,

Do you know if we have an agreement in place for this pond? It is located at the end of S. Cole Ave.

301 S. Cole Ave.

Thanks,

Jennifer,

Have you heard any more word on this matter? I know the pond drains into the city storm drain system so I can’t imagine there would be a problem with city right-of-way. I know before I proceeded with the renovations you and I had a conversation as to who would be responsible for the financial renovations to the pond, given that it is part of the storm management system of the city. (Several storm drains from surrounding houses are routed into the pond.) As I understand it Jake Hanes, a former Mayor of the city of Molalla, installed these ponds around the year 2000 while building some of the surrounding houses on the block, including this one. The pond was designed to be part of the city’s storm management system. (Note: I may be a little off on this date.) When we decided to renovate the pond last year I came to you and asked if the city would be able to help financially. You told me the city would not be able to assist financially in the renovations because the pond itself was on private property but the line coming out was part of the city storm management system and that the city would keep it clear. Has anything changed in this arrangement?

Thank you for your time,

Stephen Seale

Thanks, Stephen

Hi Steve,

Thank you for the information. As long as the work to clean the storm line consists on City right-of-way, we will be able to flush the line.

I will talk to our foreman and get back in touch with you.

Subject: Need to clean out culvert

Hi Jennifer,

We live at 301 S. Cole Ave here in Molalla. You and I have spoken several times on the culvert that drains the pond on our property and you folks graciously cleaned it out a little over a year ago when it was completely plugged. Well, the culvert is starting to plug up again and I wondered if you could send a truck to clean it out? Your help would be appreciated as we have spent several thousand dollars in pond renovation and landscaping in an attempt to bring it up to a higher standard. Below you can see a before and after picture.

The pond side of the culvert is now disguised with rock work but not in any way that would interfere with it draining. All work was done by a professional landscape company. No rock was place in front, only at the top to disguise its appearance. It is however hard to spot from the road. I will mark the area with pink marking flags for the clean-out crew. Also, clean-out was done from the road side by accessing the storm water grate. I will make myself available if they have any questions.

Thank you for your time and help in this matter.
