Hi Jessica,

We currently do not have GIS data for sidewalk, bike, trails/paths or transit stops in Molalla. This is something we are planning to work on in the next year. I will forward your previous email request to Dan Zinder and we will see what we can do about providing the inventory with GIS data.

Hi Jennifer,

One more thing I forgot to ask:

· Local Active Transportation GIS data: Please let me know if you have any GIS or other inventory data showing the locations of sidewalks, bike lanes, trails/paths, or transit stops in the Molalla area. We would like to incorporate this information into our maps if it is available so that we can identify areas where ODOT facilities are primary ped/bike routes or create major gaps in the local ped/bike network.

Thanks and Happy Holidays,

Subject: Molalla/ODOT Ped/Bike Inventory Review

Hi Jennifer,

I’m not sure who is the best staff person at City of Molalla to direct sidewalk and bike lane issues/requests to. Could you please direct me to the appropriate person to use as a point person for this ODOT planning project?

ODOT Region 1 is currently conducting an Active Transportation Needs Inventory to identify and evaluate gaps in sidewalks and bike facilities along ODOT highways (see attached handout). As part of this effort, we are also assembling a list of pedestrian and bicycle “needs” (e.g. crossings, facility improvements) on ODOT highways that have been identified by local jurisdictions in their TSP and adopted plans. We would appreciate your help to make sure that the information we’ve gathered is complete, up to date, and accurate.

· Existing ODOT Inventory QA/QC: I’ve attached a copy of two maps showing our existing inventory of sidewalks and bicycle facilities on ODOT highways in Molalla. Could you please review them and let me know if any of the data we have so far on areas with existing/missing sidewalks or bike lanes is incorrect? Our consultant is currently doing field data collection to fill in all of the blank spots along our highways that we haven’t previously inventoried for ped/bike facilities and to get additional information on midblock pedestrian crossings locations. If you notice any errors in the attached maps, I can have them collect new data to correct the problem while they’re in the field. I will send you a revised copy of these maps incorporating the new data in mid-January.

· Ped/Bike Needs on ODOT Facilities in Local Plans: Based on a review of local TSPs and adopted plans, we did not find any local ped/bike projects or “needs” identified on ODOT facilities in Molalla. If we’ve missed something (e.g. crossings or sidewalk infill priorities along OR211?), please let me know by Monday, December 29.

If you have questions or would like to discuss, please feel free to give me a call or email. Thank you in advance for your time and input!

Safe Travels,

Jessica Horning
