Jenn – see email below. Our intent to that the private storm connections to the new 30-inch pipe would not be fabricated tees, but rather and inserta-tee or equal product. Also, we were not anticipating clean-outs for each storm connection would be required. Can you confirm that this approach is acceptable to the City?

Subject: Molalla Avenue Request for Clarification

Chris,

Can you clarify the requirement for reconnection of storm drain laterals to the new 30-inch storm mainline? Fabricated tees would be an extremely expensive option for pipe this size. Fabricating tees to order, based on the diameters of pipes discovered as the project goes along may result in unreasonable delays. I assume that the majority of the reconnections would be 4 or 6 inch for storm services, and Inserta-tee, type fittings would work well here. Also, will each of the storm reconnections require a cleanout?

Thank you,

Martin Adams
