Hi Mike,

Thank you for your prompt review. Can you explain more specifically what you mean about hydrant valve? Is this valve on the hydrant? Or is this the valve in the road? The hydrant in front of the fire station appears to be on your property and not owned by the City. Unless I can find an easement, it would be considered a private hydrant and maintained by your department. If we have an easement, it can be replaced with new. The other hydrants can be addressed by public works. I will just need to have you coordinate with Dennis to identify what hydrants they are and order the parts.

I will look into the hydrant meters. I believe the hydrant meter on Shaver services the Tillamook Fiber since they do not have water service. We are working to get them a water service. However, I believe they will be in the same boat as PAC Fiber, with needing to install fire hydrants as well once a service is available. Do you know how PAC Fiber is managing Fire suppression currently? Do they have a water tank or trucks on site?

Thank you for your help with the UP issue. FYI - Neither of the two contacts I contacted from their corporate offices have called me back.

They hydrant spacing is good in this area. However, I would like to see Stortz adaptors put on the steamer ports of the 3 hydrants in this area and something needs to be done to the hydrant valve in front of the fire station. It is very difficult to open and it has been worked on several times over the past few years with the end result always the same.

On the subject of hydrants, I noticed this morning that there is still chain and meters on the fire hydrant in front of 565 on West Main and the one in front of 550 Shaver. These were supposed to be temporary. Is there any time frame on when these will be discontinued?

I have some contact info for the Union Pacific issues. I will be making some calls this week and I will keep you informed as to what bthe outcome is.

Hope you enjoyed your 4th. See ya soon.

Mike
