Attachments: speed_zone_request_form (OR211_MP 11 31 to MP 14 60).pdf; image001.png; Hello, Here are my comments regarding our Speed Zone Request submittal. I had some confusion also with the existing order you mentioned in a prior email. And thank you for the reminder, I have been swamped due to a recent reduction. However, here are my comments regarding the clarification requested. I also have no preference with how you would like to label the descriptions and ect. (see attached) Please see my comments below in RED and let me know if there are any further questions. MP 10.98 – MP 11.31, Existing 40 mph (Do Not Investigate) Correct MP 11.31 –MP 12.48 (shows on existing order 12.51), Existing 40 mph, request 25 mph Requesting 25 mph, However the Police Chief is requesting reducing the speed to 35 mph, and then to 25 mph near Hezzie Ln. (MP 12.04) or S. Leroy Ave. (MP 12.16). I would even consider reducing it to 25 mph sooner near Molalla Forrest Rd. (MP 11.71) prior to the narrowing lanes before crossing the Bear Creek Structure. The City has significant safety concerns for peds/bikes that share the bridge crossing with motorists regularly. MP 12.48 (12.51) – MP 12.97 Existing 25 mph (Do Not Investigate?) Correct MP 12.97 – MP 13.61, Existing 35 mph, request 25 mph Correct MP 13.61 – MP 14.60, Existing 55 mph, request 40 mph (enforcement suggests 45 mph) Yes the request is 40, however 45 mph is acceptable. Jennifer, Could you please clarify what you mean for requested speed and existing speed for section from MP 12.98 – MP 14.60? I think we will make these requests into one request since these sections of highway are all listed on one existing speed zone order (see attached). The City has recently been in discussions with Rich Watanabe, other Region 1 representatives and Clackamas County focusing on improving pedestrian safety and accident reduction on OR 211. As a result, we would like to request a speed study to reduce the limit and improve safety for overall local citizens and users passing through. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding the requests. Sincerely, Jennifer Cline, P.E. City of Molalla Public Works Director O: 503.759.0218 F: 503.829.3676
