Hi Jenn,
I’ve been geeking out a bit this afternoon. Tried out a trial version of Acrobat 11 to see if there was a decent export function to Excel. There isn’t in a way that is usable for me… but I did find a reasonably quick way to transfer the data from Word into something I can easily upload to my GIS program. It will certainly be many times faster/more accurate than having somebody manually enter the data.
As such, I think tweaking my Word form should be the way to go. The key will be buying or transferring a basic Microsoft Office package for the field tablet. Maybe I can transfer a license from the laptop in my office.
