A few questions on the Pacific Fiber work. Not sure who the correct contact is to answer these.
1. Is visual approval acceptable to verify compaction effort? Or will you require density compaction tests? Depends if you plan to put back CDF or approved material in the ROW. See plan sheets for compaction requirements.
2. For the water main connection. Do you allow testing/chlorinating up against the new valve? Yes
3. Do you have a list of business that will require notification for the water shutdown or as builds showing who is connected? Do you have a city contact to coordinate this with? A Hot Tap is preferred, however, this is typically determined in the field based on locating services in between the valves that will be affected. Services must be shut off prior to closing the valves and left off until the main line is restored. You can coordinate this though our Foreman, Dennis Welle, 503-793-4238
4. What is the size and pipe type of the existing sewer mainline we will be tapping into? What size pipe/type is required for the lateral? The existing sanitary sewer line is 8” concrete. The minimum is 4”, but you should size it to meeting your needs.
We are planning to start Monday on the private side waterline. Street work would start Wednesday.

Michael McBride

Good morning. Is there a right away permit application available online?
Thanks,

Hi Mark,
No charge for the permit or inspections at this time, we just want them done.
For your question regarding the Ford UFR1350-C-16-I bell restraint, you will need to use the one with the 6 rods if the pipe being installed is larger than 12” in diameter. Please confirm.
Thank you,

Jennifer – I left you a voice message related to the inquiry in my email I sent earlier (see below). In addition to this question, I’d also like to know what the City charges for a right-of-way permit fee and for utility inspections. Do you know what these fees would be for the Pacific Fibre Molalla fire line extension project? Thanks!

Hello Jennifer,
Rotschy Inc. is bidding on the fire line extension for the Pacific Fibre Molalla facility. One of our suppliers has proposed the attached Ford UFR1350-C-16-I bell restraint for the 16” PVC fire line. Is this restraint acceptable to the city of Molalla?
