Hi Dan,
Please be sure to research the certificate qualifications for a Level 2 and 3 Wastewater Operator through DEQ. This requires time and testing to reach these levels. If you are qualified currently, I encourage you to apply. We will be prescreening to make sure all applicants meet the required qualifications.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Cline, P.E.

Jennifer,
Since they city is bringing over someone from wastewater to public works, can I apply and transfer to the wastewater plant for the open position? If it requires schooling I could get it done quick. Let me know if that would be possible.
Thanks,
Dan Burck

Internal employee is better defined as a permanent employee. I understand your thinking, however this is the direction that we have decided to go at this time.

Jennifer,
Does my current position not count as internal? I feel like I more than exceed all qualifications for the job. Not saying I deserve it more than another person, I would just like the opportunity to interview for the position.
Respectfully,
Dan Burck

Hi Daniel,
Yes, you are correct. We pulled the position to work towards filling it internally.
I apologize if you were not notified that we have chosen to go another direction.
Thank you for the note.

Jennifer,
I applied for the open position for public works last week and noticed it had been taken down from the website. Are you still accepting applications or have you filled the position?
Thanks
Daniel Burck

Hi Dan,
Thank you for the note. Unfortunately we currently are in a hiring freeze. It is uncertain to when we will be able to open another position in public works.
When we are ready, all City openings are posted on the website as well as the League of Oregon Cities.
Best,
Jennifer Cline, P.E.

Jennifer,
Hi, this is Dan Burck, one of the new seasonal employees for public works. I was wondering if the city would be hiring another full time position anytime soon, or if this seasonal job would have the opportunity to turn into a full time position? I am really enjoying working here and wanted to make sure and apply for any position if it comes available.
Respectfully,
Dan Burck
