Hi Daphne,
I enjoyed working with you as well. Sad I’m not able to see the project finished out.
I’m moving back to the ‘Couve.
I will be working for the City of Vancouver as a Civil Engineer in the Construction Services Department. I’m sure we will cross paths at some point.
Thank you,

Hi Jennifer,
I just saw your email about today being your last day. Are you moving or planning to work somewhere else? I enjoyed working with you, although briefly. I hope we can work together again in the future!
Good luck,
Daphne

Gerald - FYI
Chris – I’ve included Gerald in this email so you have his City contact now. Today is my last day and it has been great working with you all. Please don’t hesitate to call if you have any questions.
Also, if you have an extra set of bound plans, I’m sure Gerald would like to have a copy. I will leave mine, but they are in rough shape.
Best Wishes!!!

Greg – as discussed yesterday, we have revised the grades at the SE corner of Molalla and Ross to reduce the cross slope on Molalla Ave. In order to make this change, we have also added an inlet on Ross street for drainage. See attached PDF for grades. The other PDF is a sketch of what was discussed as a potential connection for the new inlet on Ross; however, this may depend on the actual field conditions.
The new inlet and associated pipe will be paid for under existing pay items.
Thanks,

Chris,
STA. 17+26.88, revised spot elevation will result in a 3.62 percent slope from center line, if this will work for you we will continue forward.
Thanks
Greg

Hi Greg – as discussed at last week’s meeting, the ramp details on C-7 through C-10 have spot elevations that differ from the typical sections in order to meet ADA and drainage patterns at the curb returns. These spot elevations are intended to override the typical section. See below for our responses to the specific questions. We do have a few adjustments that will reduce the cross slope of the road while still meeting the ADA and drainage needs. Thanks!

Greg
Per our conversation, here are the are the issue areas.
1. STA: 17+26.88
Detail 1/c-3 sheet c-9 SW return, shows a gutter spot grade of 368.71, My profile and surface place the gutter at 369.06.
MSA response: This appears to be the SE return. Hold the 368.71 elevation. This spot elevation was set for drainage purposes.
2. 17+80.49
Detail 1/c-3 sheet c-9 SE return, shows a gutter grade at the BCR of 368.85, my profile and surface place the gutter at 368.65.
MSA response: This appears to be the NE return. Hold the 368.85 elevation. This spot elevation was set for maximum allowed slope across bottom of ADA ramps.
3. 24+39.94
Detail 2/c-5 sheet c-9 south return, shows a gutter grade at the CB of 365.5, my profile and surface place the gutter at 365.84
MSA response: Please adjust the spot elevation from 365.5 to 365.59 at the CB. Adjust the FL elevation at the ramp from 365.68 to 365.69.
4. 25+08.24
Detail 3/c-5 sheet c-9 north return, shows a gutter grade at the BCR of 365.30, my profile and surface place the gutter at 365.39.
MSA response: Please adjust this spot elevation to 365.35.
5. 27+42.85
Detail 1/c-6 sheet c-10 south return, shows a gutter grade at the BCR of 364.40, my profile and surface place the gutter at 364.52.
MSA response: Hold the 364.40 elevation. This spot elevation was set for drainage purposes.
The grades I came up with are by holding the centerline profile and going over the design cross slope, that also takes into account cross slopes that may fall within the 50ft transition zones of changing cross slopes. I also checked the grade by using the design FG surface for a check.
If you have any questions please give me a call.
Our crew will be out on Friday to stake the curb, they will also stake the returns minus cut/fills until this is resolved.
Thanks
