Hi Sadie,

The plugins on the telephone poles have to be repaired by a licensed electrician if they do not work. These are viewed as a “service line” to the City.

What I can tell you is some of the poles are a standard plug in, and some have photo sensors so they turn on at night only. It’s a hodge podge of services.

My best answer is, you won’t know if the service is broken until the decorations are hung or contract an electrician to test them. The expense would be on the City, since it is currently a service they bill us for.

Jen,

It is my understanding that PGE is responsible for maintenance correct? Did you try to do this the first year you were here…having PGE check the pole outlets to see which ones worked or didn’t?

Thanks,

Sadie

Hi Sadie!

We are making progress on Christmas Decoration planning and have been in contact with Sean Huntington to give us some bids to update the outlets on the PGE poles. As of right now we are looking to electrify a total of 8 poles off of Main St. on either side of four way stop (Poles numbers identified on the attached PGE permit application). Could you clarify for us the current contract/agreement that the City of Molalla has with PGE in regards to maintenance. I have attached a previous PGE permit application that we have used and at some point in the future we would like to electrify all of these poles. Once we have a bid we will look at the total cost of improvements and make a plan of how to finance it. Thanks for your help!

Attached is a blank app and a copy of the one we used last year for PGE. For ODOT we did not have an official permit. Can't remember how we did that one. I know we were approved. Anyway, Leota wanted copies of what we had used. Let me know if you need more information.
