Subject: Driveway Permit @ 667 S Molalla Ave.

Steve Smelser dropped by yesterday and provided a driveway permit for 667 S Molalla, where he’s replacing an older home. The area adjacent has no sidewalks, so he was hoping to construct a new one that meets current standards. The issue is, do we go with the standard pursuant to the TSP, pursuant to other parts of S Molalla, or a different standard?

I attached the page of the TSP that provides street designs, Molalla Ave is listed as an arterial (weird) and provides two options for arterials.

I’ve also attached google street views of both 667 S Molalla (capture) that shows the lack of sidewalks and then capture2 displays Molalla ave further north, which shows how there’s a vegetative buffer between the street and sidewalk.

I was leaning towards going with option B from the TSP even though its listed as a ‘downtown arterial’ streetscape. I’m dropping off a copy of the permit to your inbox shortly. The ROW is 60’, which I confirmed via the plat (also attached), which would allow him to improve the driveway as proposed in the TSP.
