I am ok with it if they prefer to use their personal phones. However, the duty phone will be a city issue phone.
In addition, a waiver should be signed that the City is not held liable if the phone is damaged on the job, nor will the City replace their personal phone with a City issued phone in the meantime until the personal phone is replaced. I would like the waiver to be renewed annually allowing them to have the crew to have the ability to opt out.

In the compensation are you consider giving a phone allowance since we all use our phones for a number of city business calls etc…

What I want you all to know is that I am cognizant of our current management team compensation package. I made a prediction before the salary survey was complete and I am happy to say that I was right. Not that I enjoy being right. So, that said Heather and I will be looking closely at where you all currently reside with regard to compensation and I will give every consideration where possible to begin rectifying what I believe is a problem.
