Subject: FW: Demolition Permit Question

So, that’s a no. I will inquire the gentleman on S Molalla Ave about his demolition, because I know he plans on building again. I don’t have contact info for the other home that was demolished more recently. I would hope that the contractor uses BMP’s but there’s no way we know without contacting the owner.

Nicolas,

On Demo Permits, the customer is required to make sure all safety concerns are covered and not a potential hazard to anyone else on the property. So the customers are responsible to make sure septic, sewer are covered or capped and the electric goes away when meter is pulled. J There are no inspections with a demo permit, so it is up to the property owner to follow through.

Subject: Demolition Permit Question

Hi Shirley,

We’ve had a couple of demolitions over the past few months here in Molalla, and the PW Director posed a question to me that perhaps you could answer as the County has been administering this demo permits.

Does the permit require capping of sewer as a condition of demolition? We want to ensure these locations have their sewers capped to avoid future I & I issues.

Thanks,
