Importance: Normal
Hi Chris,
Daphne and I were looking at the additional costs to redesign the storm trunk line in the center of the travel lane. She indicated it would be an increase of $20-$30K. I know Jim had made some cost cuts from the last estimate he provided for the 3rd to Heinz St change. I wanted to see an updated estimate before I ruled out making the storm design change. If it reduces impacts significantly to NWN and we have funds, then making the design change is acceptable.
Thanks,

Ken - If the City intends to award the contract in February 2016, then the very earliest would be March 1, 2016. The majority of the NWN conflicts are with the storm. I would anticipate the water and the storm to be some of the first things that the contractor works on; however, if NWN needs more time (like an extra month or so) we could include special provisions with this timing so the contractor can bid and plan for the project accordingly.

Hi Ken,
The impact to our natural gas system on Molalla Avenue is pretty significant and we need to do some design and planning of resources on our end.
What is the anticipated start date for the City contractor?
Thanks,
