Here’s a copy of the agreement. I don’t see a requirement anywhere that requires us to mow commercial parkway. However, I do see we need to maintain the storm basins, as we do others in town.

At this time, unless you find a requirement in the agreement I did not see, do not continue to mow the vegetation buffers along the sidewalks. We will need to maintain around the basins on our property, but that is it.

Darren – You are correct in your thoughts. I actually need to re-read the contract to find out where it says we have to maintain those areas.

Dan,

As I understand it there are efforts being made with the school district to access and correct a poorly written contract or agreement regarding the aquatic center. Is there any chance that similar efforts will be made to get out of a poorly written agreement regarding the maintenance of the planter strips etc. on Commercial Parkway?

As you and I have discussed before, we shouldn’t be maintaining that area however we are due to our previous leaders. I was mowing there today and it is such a cluster with garbage, trucks and trailers parked/stored on the right of way, huge ruts in the planter strips from trailers being backed over them and sinking in, I almost broke my ankle in one of those holes today.

Just curious if we are going to attempt to get out of another bogus agreement or continue to use limited city resources where we shouldn’t be?

Thanks!

Darren
