Hi Hassan,

I forgot to mention on the phone, due to the cost of the change order exceeding $10K we will need to bring this in front of council next Wednesday for approval. I don’t see any issue receiving approval, the City has funds available in our Water CIP program.

Hi Jennifer,

1) The Mobilization Item covers Mikes time (Supervision)for the added work and additional Bond and Insurance, No equipment moves were included. Agreed

2) The Traffic Control Item covers a flagger to set up and take down signs and barricades every day. Even with the closure, we will still have to get people in and out of the area to their homes with open trenches.

We will have to finish the water line and services on Stowers before we can core the street and prep for curbs and asphalt.

3) The erosion control is for dewatering the trench. Agreed

The measurement and payment section for Erosion Control (Item A-3) does not include payment for dewatering for utility trench work. Also, Section 02200, Part 3.08 address Groundwater and states that it is incidental to the to the contract.

Please remove the cost for the Erosion Control and I will work to have the change order signed.

Hi Hassan,

I have a few concerns with their estimate, let me know what you think?

1) The Mob seems a bit high to me. It is calculated at approx. 8.4% when they are already on the job.

2) The traffic control is also high. If they are planning to close the road to do the work there should be minimal cost for TTC with no flagging. Also, will other work be going on during this time? I’m calculating just over half their quote for 30 days of a full street closure.

3) What is the breakdown for erosion control? Erosion control should already be in place.
