Importance: Normal
Hi Craig,
If I’m understanding you correctly the running slope of the structure would be 3.7%? In regards, to ADA standards a maximum 5% running slope must be maintained or resting pads are required. If I understand you correctly the running slope of the bridge at 3.7% would be sufficient and meet ADA standards.

Hi Jennifer,
Was hoping you could give some guidance: Our group heard informal feedback that people from the city preferred the Western Wood Structures bridge with the slightly arched design. Consequently, we asked WWS to design the bridge with that appearance.
WWS’s representative, Hazen Hyland, indicated today that with a span of 36 feet, the arch will result in 8 inches of vertical rise at the center of the bridge. That would convert to a slope of 8 inches in 216 inches (18 feet), or 3.7 percent. I wanted to verify that this amount of camber or slope is acceptable to the city. Would you please advise as soon as you are able?
Kindest Regards... Craig
