Jake,

The answer to your question about available N from the biosolids is kind of complex. But the main thing to know is that for 2015, the biosolids will provide 15.9 pounds of available N per DT of solids that are applied. This assumes that the solids will not be incorporated after application. So, if a field receives 4 DT/ac of solids, it will receive 63.6 lb available N/acre and this is the value that will need to be reported.

The annual biosolids report for 2015 will not be due until early in 2016 so there will be time to assemble the report before then. I believe that Jon Patrick completed the annual biosolids report last year (attached).

During 2015 biosolids operations that will begin after Labor Day, it will be important to track biosolids application rates (DT/ac, gallons/acre), as well as daily total solids and whether or not the biosolids were incorporated by Ralph Piuser after application. Then you will have the data you need to complete the 2015 annual report.

Thanks for the information.

What types of nitrogen make up the "available nitrogen" Is it TKN, Ammonia as N, or Nitrate as N. I guess what I am asking is what lb/N/ac are we suppose to report?

Jake,

I think the following should suffice:

Maybe Jennifer or Jason will have additional input.
