Importance: Normal

Attachments: 15078-20151022-FINAL Recommendations for Rate Increases.pdf;

All City customers pay a base rate plus a usage rate. The usage rate for sewer is based on the average for 6 months during the winter. The usage rate for water varies based on the water used per month.

This is any example of what an average residential user may pay:

SEWER (Residential)

Current – $24.69 Base + $2.44 per 100 cf

Average user @ 700 cf pays $41.77/mo.

Jan. 2015 - $33.36 Base + $3.30 per 100 cf

Average user @ 700 cf pays $56.46/mo.

WATER (Residential)

Current – $11.13 Base + $2.30 per 100 cf

Average user @ 700 cf pays $27.23/mo.

Proposed July 2015 - $13.38 Base + $2.93 per 100 cf

Average user @ 700 cf pays $33.89/mo.

I have also include the information that was handed out to council

Daniel – I want to relook at this to make sure it is correct. What is your deadline?

Is this still correct?

Molalla last raised sewer rates by 9.31 percent in 2006 and water rates by 6 percent in 2009. Molalla utility customers currently pay a base rate of $25.77 for water and $39.33 for sewer services. The proposed increases bump that amount up to about $31 and $51.57, respectively.

I wasn’t in there for her prepared statement either. I included Sadie Cramer with this e-mail because she hopefully has the statement if it was actually submitted.

A woman named Karen addressed the council last night. She had a written statement that she read. Can you please forward me a copy of that statement? This is not an easy assignment – covering a meeting I wasn’t at. Not a fan of this approach.
