Thanks Jen. It shouldn’t take long. It should take only about 30 minutes.

Hi Jennifer,

Thank you for your reply. I will check in to whom they spoke with as it was not me or Chief Stafford as I found out this morning. Can we meet in front of the station today briefly and go over the plans and sign ? I will work around your schedule. Just let me know.

Hi Mike,

Prior to the project design our engineers personally stopped by the Fire Station to discuss access and needed widths. To their knowledge, the widths in the plans match the conversation held previously. However, they will be checking their notes to verify they match the existing plans and we will confirm that with you. Additionally the City is required to provide ADA ramps at all 4 corners of the public ROW at an intersection, which further limits the ability to provide a 50-ft approach. The current commercial/industrial maximum driveway width per PW Standards is 36-ft for a City Arterial. I have made an exception for the 40-ft driveway to best match what is existing.

I will discuss the removal of the street tree internally and let you know if this is an option to remove.

I will follow up with you once I look into this further.

Thanks,

Subject: Approach to Fire Station

Thanks Jennifer. As I read the plans, I have concerns about the approaches. With the current plans, it appears that the south approach will be reduced by at least 10 feet from its current width and the north is being reduced by at least this much as well. The other issue I have is with the tree well between the approaches. If trees are to be planted, this could pose a traffic hazard for us at this intersection as we are responding to calls. The tree will also, over time and depending on what type of tree, cut down on the size of our approach even more. I don’t see the PGE pole in/on the plans either. However, I do see a light pole. Is the light on the current pole being just replaced or will there be an additional pole with a light like on the plans ? I think that we should sit down next week and talk about things along with Chief Stafford and Mike Towner Molalla Fire Board President. We have a meeting in Tigard on the 18th that ends at 1130. You go to lunch 1 so how about 2pm on the 18th. I look forward to hearing from you.

See Sheet 21 of the plans. They call out a 24-foot and 40-foot commercial driveway approach.

Did we ever get measurements for the approaches for the front of the fire station ? I looked on line and the plans are there but with no detailed measurements.
