Is there a use it or lose it cap for vacation and comp?

Whereas, if they don’t manage their time and schedule time-off appropriately they risk losing the time at the year end cut-off?

Jenn and Dennis,

Adam Shultz has vacation accrued at 329.00 as of 12/26/2015. He also accrues 10.0 additional hours per month. He will be at the maximum accrual by April 2016.

Please have him schedule a minimum of 40.00 vacation by 03/31/2016 and an additional 40.00 of vacation by 06/30/2016.

In payroll each employee calculates a liability amount for the payable time (vacation/comp/floater). Management is responsible for watching those hours to manage potential costs/payout for our departments and to ensure employees have ample opportunity for time off. By contract we are only allowed to assess maximum limits on the employees at 12/31, but we can and need to encourage employees close to the maximum to address those levels.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks!
