Hi Jen,

I will have our CAD folks revise the detail notes as follows:

2. Tapping of sewer mains to be inspected by City forces.

3. In new subdivisions or for unused stubs, mark end of service with painted 2x4 stake (white for storm, green for sanitary). Marker shall extend at least 2 feet above finished grade. Using black indelible marker, indicate depth from top of board and type (SS for sanitary, SD for storm drain).

Will also number this drawing 114 as a place holder until we get the numbering convention locked down.

Looks good Jen. Only thing I see is the contractors usually mark the sewer stake in green, Not a big deal as long as it gets marked.

Have a good day.

Hi Dennis,

Here is a standard drawing I had worked up for us. It is a for a deep sewer lateral connection. Other than changing note 2 to be work done by the contractor and inspected by the City prior to backfill, do you have any comments on the drawing?

Thank you,

Hi Jen,

Please see attached draft detail for your review. Redline any comments or changes you have and email them back to me once complete. We will need to discuss a hierarchy for the detail drawings and can select from other agencies as needed.

Here is a link to Salem’s. http://www.cityofsalem.net/DEPARTMENTS/PUBLICWORKS/ENGINEERING/Pages/Publications.aspx Let me know if this looks good to you and we can use it going forward. It allows for 100 details per section. Thanks.
