Julie and Jennifer:

Good news! I just wanted to let you know that we received a letter today informing us that our source water protection fund grant application has been recommended for funding. It is only a recommendation at this point and we hope that we’ll be funded soon. Once we hear if it is funded, we should plan to meet to discuss the areas of concern.

Have a great day.

Barb

The referenced table is shown in the Letter of Interest application. A fillable version of the LOI is available on the DW Source Protection Fund web page at http://public.health.oregon.gov/HealthyEnvironments/DrinkingWater/SRF/Pages/spf.aspx

You can open either the pdf or word version of the “DWSPF LOI” and look on page 5 – I personally find the Word version easier to work with so downloaded it and attached it to this email if that is quicker to find.

Hi Julie,

Looking at Section F: Project Work Plan, suggests filling out a table. I don’t see a table in the document. Is there a excel file that goes with?

Thanks,

Hello Julie and All,

Thank you for the draft LOI for the project. I have edited and added a paragraph (in purple) of Molalla River Watch’s current restoration efforts that include improving water quality in the Molalla Source Water area that also benefits Canby’s water quality. We look forward to working with Molalla and Canby Utility as outlined in the attached draft Letter of Intent.

Barbara and Larry – I will send a letter of support from Molalla River Watch, Inc. to be included with the IOL if you let me know that you are going to be able to submit by June 5.

Thank you for your efforts,

Hi All – attached are some ideas for what Canby and Molalla could propose to address septic systems in the drinking water source area. I’ve tried to include most of the information needed including some generalized costs and a map. Much of this information comes directly from the Source Water Assessments that were completed in 2000. You should feel free to modify this however you see fit. If Canby Utility Board applies for the grant, a letter of support from City of Molalla and from Molalla River Watch could be attached to the cover letter. Please take a look and see if these ideas are work-able in your community. Call me if you have any questions or would like to discuss further. Also call if you need assistance with the LOI – especially since its due next Friday, June 5th.

Barbara - good talking with you this afternoon - Information for the grant application is posted on the OHA Drinking Water Program website at http://public.health.oregon.gov/HealthyEnvironments/DrinkingWater/SRF/Pages/spf.aspx. The “DWSPF LOI” link will get you to the application form and information on eligible projects and the rating criteria are found in the document titled DWSPF - General Information on Funding (pdf) which is towards the bottom of the page.

I’ll send you some ideas for the LOI first thing tomorrow morning.
