I just found out recently the crew has already purchased the 6” and necessary fittings. Please design the system to a 6” pipe, instead of 8” as I previously stated.

Hi Jenn,
Thanks for getting back to me so quick, it is a standard we have adopted for years that the minimum waterline size is 8” for looped systems which provides a better residual fire flow, unless it is a dead end street, it can be 6”. Having said that and after viewing google maps and for such a short street and no fire hydrants connections, this line can be 6”.
I thought it is the intersection of Hart and Section, isn’t it?

Yes, still on the agenda along with the intersection repair at 5th and Hart.
I’m ok with the 8”, but just curious if there a specific reason you suggested 8” over 6”?

We have discussed the replacement of the existing 2” steel waterline with 6” PVC on 4th Avenue between Hart St and Metzler St (are these the correct limits). We suggest using 8” and not 6” pipe?
Is this something still on the agenda and shall I call for locates before the survey crew gets the topo done?
