My first thought is the park is theirs and they should post the regulations that they feel are reasonable and approved by their attorney. If their goal is to be fundamentally in-line with the City parks, then for the most part, they’re on the right track. 2. Secondly, I believe regulation #1 is in conflict with #3 and may be problematic. Dawn to dusk is consistent with City policies and really is a safety/livability issue. For example, other than an evening concert that church would put on in the park, with lighting and sound, nothing good comes out of allowing people in the park after dark. I would therefore suggest they prohibit people after dark. 3. I would also suggest they post “NO CAMPING” as well. Other than an all church campout wherein they do by permit for a special event, we know only too well what would happen without that restriction. This might read, “NO CAMPING – Violators will be subject to exclusion and arrest for Criminal Trespass under ORS 164.245.” These are some of my thoughts regarding what would be consistent, workable and would keep them from having troublesome issues. We are in support but not in a place to really impose any regulations as a City. Is there anything that needs to be posted on this sign in order for your department to enforce trespassing or safety related laws? Obviously I want to ensure the proper language is posted in order to give us the authority to keep the place safe, even though it’s not a public park. Sue is on her way down this morning to City Hall with the application. The sign will be 36” x 36” and will face west towards the street - we will make two one for each entrance. They won’t be right on the street either. The south sign will be alongside the auditorium and the north will be at least 20 feet up the driveway. I’ll wait to hear from you to make sure this is ok and whether there is anything else we need to do. Thanks Nicolas!
