Subject: RE: **URGENT REQUEST** Fire Hydrant - Flow Test Results
Importance: Normal
Hi James,
Hydrant Flow Test
I will discuss the need for a hydrant flow test tomorrow with the Public Works Crew. The crew staff is limited on Fridays, so this may need to happen early next week.
Right-of-Way Permit Application
In order to process the work in Right-Of-Way permit I will need a copy of your traffic control plan. I’m assuming the contractor will need to flag single lane closures with the amount of truck traffic using Shaver on a daily basis.
Please also keep in mind we will require a 24 hour minimum notice for inspection of the core and tap at the sewer main. At the time of inspection, if the trench width is less than 4 feet, CDF will be required along with a copy of the ticket for verification. If the trench is wider than 4 feet the trench must be backfilled with the following:
· Roadway Section – 1”- 0 or ¾” – 0, crushed rock compacted to 95% (AASTHTO T-180)
· Native Ground – Native Backfill compact to 90% (AASTHTO T-180)
Driveway Construction Permit
In order to process the Driveway Construction permit we will need a copy of your Traffic Control Plan to do the work. A single lane closure will most likely be required to tie into Shaver.
Also, please indicate the asphalt and rock section that will be placed within the right-of-way and specify the Class of Mix. This information was not included on the permit.
I will do my best to get the permit turned around as soon as possible, but please keep in mind our typical permit turnaround time is 1-2 weeks.
Thank You for your patience,
Jennifer Cline, P.E.

Subject: **URGENT REQUEST** Fire Hydrant - Flow Test Results
Importance: High
Jennifer:
Can you provide me the most recent flow test for the hydrant on Shaver Ave. between 3rd and 5th streets? If results are not available, could the City get the hydrant flow tested ASAP and get the results to me? Mike Penunuri, Fire Marshall informed me this morning that he is mandating that we “drop a hydrant” on our property. I need this information ASAP so I can look into engineering issues, cost estimates, etc. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE. We are preparing to pave in the very near future and we need this information so that we can get the hydrant line and hydrant installed prior to paving so we don’t have to cut asphalt. If you have any question please contact me ASAP; otherwise I look forward to receiving the information shortly. If you need to call me – try my cell phone at 360-430-0749.
Thanks in advance Jennifer for your prompt assistance on this very urgent matter.
