Hi Gerald,

Before I forget.. I would like to look at adding an inspector position that directly reports to the PW Director. The Job duties would likely be as follows:

Public Works Inspector and Permits Specialist (Non-Union)

· Perform necessary inspections for City funded contracts, contractor utility connections, developer improvements on streets and utilities and sidewalk or driveway improvements per City Specifications, Standards and Permit requirements.

· Work with Commercial properties to maintain FOG Reduction Program and perform inspections and report on commercial Grease Removal Devices (GRDs)

· Perform duties to review, issue and maintain the Public Works Permit records system in addition to inspecting permitted utility or work with in the City right-of-way.

· Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point. Experience with GIS mapping or data logging is a plus.

· Two (2) or more years of experience inspecting municipality Utilities (Water Distribution, Sewer Collections & Storm Drainage) and Street construction and completing, but no limited Inspector Diary reports

· Ability to perform work duties through ambiguous situations, interpret plans, specifications and standard drawings, and successfully communicate with contractors, business owners and the public.

These are just basic duties that would be required. I would suggest the pay range would be along the lines of a Utility Maintenance Worker III.

Thanks,

Jennifer Cline, P.E. | Public Works Director
