Hi Jeff,

Just my thoughts here…

I’m sure your aware but, Susan has be extra vigilant at attacking the City staff and council members lately. I wanted to shared her following post in regards to the City because I feel she’s beginning to cross those lines of truth into libelous attacks. I highlighted those areas in her rant below where she states we are “highly” paid or over paid in context. This is untrue. The City did a salary survey this year and for public works alone we were found to be behind between 4 – 9% on average with other City’s.

Second, her claim that I was un eager to set the appointment with DEQ. She has no idea what I was thinking and that is far from the truth. I began communication right away with David. And then we waited to respond until we had the meeting with Tiffany and Nina. In that meeting I expressed verbally I was going to be out for training the rest of the week and I would be getting back to David soon after (apparently Tiffany didn’t understand and/or I may have been unclear about that).

Also, in our meeting with David and Randy, Randy generally admitted that the leak test guidance provided by DEQ was not the preferred method to collect and analyze the lagoons. After knowing this, it makes it clear why DEQ was asking the questions. They wanted addition data that was not mentioned in the Leak Test guidance, which we provided the same day. I personally asked them when was the last time they had done a leak test? Neither one of them could answer the question with a time. This test does not appear to be a regularly required test of lagoons across their region.

City manager El Hefe Huff and the City Council claim all is well in sewer treatment world? They must be kidding! Below is the Molalla "public works" laugh of the day: the cover letter and DEQ's response to the ridiculous comedy called Molalla tries to do a lagoon leak test. Is Molalla's highly paid "professional" staff capable of doing anything that doesn't generate questions and inspections from DEQ?

This silly so-called test result report certainly has raised eyebrows at D...EQ. See the questions below DEQ produced when it got this "report" filled with "technical problems" - we are awaiting DEQ's report about its inspection of the nasty lagoons last week. DEQ questions (don't you pity anyone who has to pay taxes to Molalla to pay for "staff" that end up generating this kind of response? No wonder "manager" Jennifer Cline was not eager to set this appointment - she might have been smarter to troop into PDX, rather than let DEQ engineer and inspector tour the lagoons, but even a trip to PDX would certainly not have answered these questions):

Subject: Molalla leak test report review questions.

Hello Jennifer. After reviewing your leak test report, we have some questions we need answered. We would prefer if you could come meet with us in one of our conference rooms. Please send me a list of days and times you could meet us here, over the next week or so. I believe an hour should be sufficient time to go over the test results and answer our questions. Please prepare to answer the following questions:

· What was going on with pond levels during the test?

· Where do the influent and effluent numbers come from? Meters? Where are the meters located?

· We need to know how the level for the aeration basin is controlled if it is between the influent flowmeter and the lagoons.

Please bring a full-scale flow diagram to help us get a complete picture of the locations for the critical system and test components. Thank you.
