Subject: FW: Vehicle damage from construction at 7th and stower

Importance: Normal

Hi Curtis,

Here is a possible claim by a home resident near Stowers. There may be some damage to the vehicle, however the lip was not 6-8” at most 4.5”. The paver is only placing approx.. two – 2” lifts of ACP. The lip was only exposed for a short time when prepping for paving. After speaking further with the flaggers, it sounds like she came through as they were setting up the traffic control, however the road was already prepped for paving.

Unfortunately after speaking to the traffic control on-site no bump signs were placed at the 7th and Stowers intersection.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Subject: Vehicle damage from construction at 7th and stower

Jennifer,

I am writing this email as confirmation of the conversation we had this morning at 8:43am on the 30th of April 2015. As we discussed I would like this to be considered formal notification of damages caused to the smoke grey 2008 Subaru Legacy Type R my wife Tina, and I own. The company performing the repairs to Stower Road left a ledge estimated to be between 6 to 8 inches in elevation between the transition from pavement to the gravel bed of Stower Road that appears to be preparatory for paving activities. When my wife left for work around 8:08am the car drug the front valance, rear bumper and exhaust on the street as she attempted to navigate the transition. During her explanation she spoke of a worker who witnessed the event and cringed as the car scraped the ground. We do not know the full extent of the damages as of yet however we will be getting a professional appraisal as you recommended. As I understand it the city recorder will be handling this matter but is away until Monday. Please ensure they make contact with us as quickly as possible so the issue does not linger.

You can reach me on my cell phone at any time (503) 369-7413.

Thank you
