Attached are the plans for phase 2 of the curb and sidewalk reconstruction along OR 212 (Main Street) in Molalla. In our previous telephone discussion you indicated there is a chance you can amend the existing permit from phase I as opposed to issuing a new permit.

Larry and I reviewed the plans with the update you provided. They appear acceptable for use. I am attaching standard provisions and special provisions for your signature. Please review and sign the provisions and return them to me. I will need original signatures for our files. Your can pdf copies to me and then mail the originals to my office to help speed things up.
I will also need a certificate of insurance before I can issue the permit. Insurance can be from the City or their contractor. The insurance must be for a minimum of $500,000 and name ODOT “certificate holder” and “additionally insured”.

Hi Hassan,
Checking in to see if you’ve heard back from ODOT on the Main St “Rodeo Walk of Fame” sidewalk improvement? The city would like to start the project as soon as possible. Also, I spoke with Dan and we both agree that the gutter is not needed on the curb section. The gutter and additional pavement needed to match in can be removed from plan sheet C2.
Regarding the Grange, Heintz and Stowers St project, the crew is on their 2nd day of potholing to uncover the water lines. We should have a few hand sketches to send your way today or early tomorrow morning.

Hi Jennifer,
We have addressed your comments as stated in this e-mail and as shown on the plans. A sidewalk cross section will not be needed as the sidewalk was designed at 2% slope toward the street. Curb and gutter were added and the asphalt sawcut line will be at 5 feet from face of curb to make the transition from gutter slope (8%) to existing asphalt. An area drain is added at the low point of the building access on the east side with a detail.
Attached is a scanned copy of the submittal that was mailed to Michael Keyes at ODOT.

Hi Hassan,
I’ve attached the plans with review comments. I have a few addition comments that that I recommend to include with the submittal to ODOT for the permit.
1) Recommend to include the TCP for Intersection Work Zone Details with a plan note that references the “2-lane, 2-way ONE LANE CLOSURE”, see attached .pdf
2) ODOT may question the type of trees that are going to be placed in the sidewalk in regards to sight distance. The two types of trees that will be used are either Armstrong Maple or Bradford Pear.
Please let me know if you have any other questions regarding the plan mark ups.
