Subject: RE: questions for Molalla biosolids proposal

Hi Bill,

I just finished talking with Jon. Here is the information I gathered.

· Regarding the bio-solids in the Lagoons. Jon anticipates 7-ft deep of solids in the Section 1 (first 4 AC on the west) with the depth trailing off from there. He calculated approximately 9MGal of total Bio-solids.

· The Solid Sampling Plan is part of the Final BSMP attached above, with Part2 in my following email.

· With just this year’s 2014 bio-solid removal the plant is already seeing a reduction in Ammonia’s, approx. 1/5 the levels than the previous years measured, and BOD levels have also dropped.

· If you have additional questions, you can reach Jon at his personal email: jonpatrick1@live.com

· Please also see my comments below in RED

Subject: questions for Molalla biosolids proposal

Hi Jennifer,

I’m working on a proposal to help the City get new sites authorized for land application of the biosolids. But it would help to get a few things clarified first (if possible):

· Fizer site (Piuser)

o This site is approximately 200 acres and currently authorized to the City of Canby.

o Can you please scan and email an aerial map of the site to me? The Parcel numbers for the sites are as follows: 01076846, 01076793, 01076766, 01077113, 01076873.

o Why does Canby no longer want it? It can be difficult to find 200 acre sites so I am wondering why Canby no longer needs it (maybe they have had neighbor problems in the past). Canby no longer land applies the solids. They now dry it and haul it off as waste.

· Jorgenson site – looing to take Biosolids in 2015

o Located adjacent to the wwtp.

o Can you find out if the old outfall does in fact go through this site? The outflow does not go through Jorgenson’s site

o If it does, does the City still want to apply biosolids there? Setbacks could be placed around the discharge pipe (just like any other sensitive site feature).

· Grant Sharp – This site is a conflict of interest and the deeded land owner has changed her mind.

o This was another potential site mentioned today. Should it be included in the proposal from BC?

o If so, please scan and email an aerial picture of the site to me.

o What crops are grown?

· Other

o Are there any other sites that the City wants to authorize, or explore further for the possibility of authorizing? None know in the area.

o Also, please advise if the attached BSMP is the most updated version that was approved by DEQ. My understanding is that it is but mention was made today about a newer version being updated. If there is a more updated version, please scan and email a copy to me. I am attaching the files in two separate emails, this being the first.

o Also, I did locate a copy of the Facilities Plan on our server so I don’t believe there is a need to look for that (unless Greg Humm advises otherwise). I will forward you those emails with the WWFP.

Thanks and let me know if you have any questions.

Bill
