Hello Jen –
Ken asked that I provide you information on the PGE costs associated with the Heintz Street illumination.
Attached is the form for the City to fill out and it includes the total cost to be paid by the City of $4,623.28.
PGE needs the payment in advance of their ordering the project materials. PGE did explain what is associated with the $4,623.28 fee:
The Line Extension is for material and labor (including man hours and equipment) to install the circuit. The allowance is based on the wattage of the fixture used (the higher the wattage the higher the allowance) : Line Extension – Allowance = Total Cost $4,623.28.

I was asked to review the attachments and do have one question for you.
Could you provide a break down for the line extension cost of $4,860.12? If the associated breakdown was included, I overlooked it and do apologize!
For this and future projects, I would like an understanding of what goes into the PGE line extension cost for new lighting systems – such as:
ü Are there materials, labor, equipment?
ü Is the cost different depending on the lighting option that is selected?
ü Is the cost different for public and private illumination systems?
ü Is there any other insight that you can offer to help educate me?

Attached you will find a copy of our customer responsibility letter for street lighting, PGE’s approved street lighting equipment list, a PGE drawing of the project and the Streetlight Job Cost Agreement.
Please pass this information on to any contractors who may be doing any portion of this work. A pre-construction meeting is required on site, and all conduit work must be inspected before you backfill. Please call Jim Kacalek @ 503.747.9159 two days prior to backfilling for conduit/trench inspections.
The bottom of the streetlight pole needs to be installed at the same time the conduit system is installed. PGE will provide the bottom of the two piece pole and your contractor may pick them up from our Woodburn storeroom, please call 503.980.2137 prior to pick up to verify material is in (reference M#1594768).
Please return payment along with a signed copy of the attached Streetlight Job Cost Agreement to the address listed at the bottom of the Streetlight Job Cost Agreement.
