I would expect a report of that kind this time of year. I agree they have a very clean operation as well. The concern is how they mitigate during dry and windy summer month conditions. I personally witnessed the red bark on the vehicles parked outside Kelli’s business. I do not believe the complaint is just a personal issue under specific environment and weather conditions.

Just my thoughts,

Subject: Pacific Fibre Products - Update on Dust Issues

Nicolas:

Good afternoon. I wanted to provide you with an update on the dust complaint issues from Baker Auto. On September 17, 2015 our Truck Scale Op. Lindsey, received a call from a representative of the DEQ regarding a complaint of dust that DEQ had recently received. The representative informed Lindsey that he drove through our yard and noticed it was a very clean operation. He also observed the containers we placed along the east border of our property and that the bark yard had been watered down with our water truck. He was very impressed with our operations and the mitigating steps we had taken. Lindsey invited him back at a time when we could meet with him and tour him around our facility. He informed her that a follow up visit would not be necessary and didn’t think we had a problem. He said it appears that this was more of a personal issue as Kelli Baker was the only person he had received any complaint from. I want to emphasize that his inspection was totally unexpected to our personnel as he didn’t schedule it in advance or announce his presence to any staff while on site. We were not aware we had received an inspection until his phone call on September 17th.

We thank you for the time that you have dedicated to discussing this issue with all parties involved. I want to emphasize to you that we will be vigilant in our efforts to remain good neighbors and to minimize dust issues in the area for which we are responsible. That said, please notify us at your earliest convenience if you should become aware of any concerns regarding our facility so that we can work to promptly resolve issues.

Best regards,

James Bobst
