Jen,
I want to run my recommendation by you one more time. I don’t feel that you understand the mistake that you have made by laying me off. Jason and Jake have zero experience with Summer irrigation and Bio solids removal. By laying me off you are setting them up for failure. My recommendation is to lay off a street crew position and move me to the street crew. That way I would be available in person or by telephone for any questions, concerns or issues that Jake and Jason will run into. I know I do not have Union protection but I have been with the city longer than 2 of your street crew positions that were recently hired and that leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Also I have more experience than the newest 2 employees on the street crew. I have experience in Collections, Distribution, and I have my CDL. It is unfortunate that poor billing practices have put the city and its employees into this position. Please keep me updated if and or when I may be able to return back to work.
