Pledge your Support for Oregon's Clean Car Bill

imageLocal and national electric vehicle stakeholders convened at the recent Energize Oregon Coalition meeting to discuss the legislative outlook and outreach strategies for the Coalition's proposed Clean Car Bill. At the meeting, Dan Bates of Thorn Run Partners - who will be leading the Coalition's efforts in Salem during the upcoming legislative session - provided an update on the political landscape. Colin Cochran, working on behalf of the Union of Concerned Scientists, provided an overview of the communications strategy he will be leading to promote the bill and the positive impacts of a clean vehicle rebate. Attendees also formally endorsed the Coalition's proposal, as a demonstration to legislators of support for the bill. If you would like to see a low- and zero-emission vehicle rebate in Oregon, pledge your support today!

The new Alternative Fuel Vehicle Fleet Projects Program will offer businesses tax credits to offset the purchase of at least two alternative fuel fleet vehicles that will replace older vehicles. This program will be open from January 5 - March 31, 2015. Visit our website to learn more. The Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Projects Program offers businesses tax credits to support the installation of clean vehicle infrastructure, including electric vehicle charging stations. This program is currently closed, but ODOE has announced it will open again in early 2015. Once open, we will post it to our Funding Opportunities page. If you are interested in pursuing either program, feel free to contact us for assistance.

In Brussels, he presented a paper about Oregon as a “Living Laboratory” for electric mobility at the European Electric Vehicle Congress. Jeff (pictured at right, in Oslo's City Hall) found Europe working through many of the same issues we have in the U.S., creating opportunities for us to learn and do business together. Read about Jeff's takeaways in his post on our website.
