Hi Rob,

The crews cleaned out the filter media from the bottom of Filter #1 and found some issues in the false bottom area of the filter tank. See attached images. I will have a number for you on the amount of posts but assume that you will need to weld in plates to hold the posts to the base and then prime coat by hand a thick layer around each one of the posts. The next step will be to epoxy paint the inside of the false bottom. The nozzles above and the holding tank area appear to be OK and the buildup of filter media is likely a result of false bottom area not being cleaned and inspected since installed. The nozzles do allow some media material to pass during the backwash process and that may have been years of buildup.

Please provide me with a cost proposals to correct the floor failure around the post bottom that connects to the floor of the filter, prime coat the repaired areas, and then clean and epoxy paint the interior as previously specified to prevent this from happening again in the future. Note that the nozzles will need to be masked off. There is also a possibility that Filter 4 will need the same work this summer too and they will take that one off line soon. We would like to schedule the work just after July 1 when we are in the new fiscal year. If you can get me the cost by mid or end of next week then that would be awesome. Thanks for your patients while we’ve taken care of some of the grunt work internally.

Regards,
