Hi Jennifer – good talking with you this afternoon. Please see below for the links to the information on the Source Protection Fund.

Also here is a link to see examples of the outreach materials produced by Clackamas County and the Clackamas River Water Providers addressing septic systems. http://www.clackamasproviders.org/septic-system-assistance-program/ Several of the brochures and the original workshops that we completed in 2013 were developed with OHA Source Protection Grant funding. These materials can be easily adapted for other areas.

I’ll look for some good example brochures on streamside restoration before our meeting next week.

Let me know if you have any questions in the interim and I’ll see you at 2pm on Wednesday May 20th!

RE: City of Molalla Public Water Supply (PWS 00534)

Hi Mr. Stiglbauer– The Oregon’s Dept. of Environmental Quality and the Oregon Health Authority work jointly to assist public water systems with protecting their source of drinking water upstream of their intakes. I wanted to let you know that there is a grant program to assist with this goal. The 2015 Drinking Water Source Protection Fund Grant process is now open and Letters of Interest (LOIs) are being accepted through Friday June 5, 2015. Public Water Systems can apply for up to $30,000 in grants (per system per year) to implement protection activities in their source area. Information is posted on the OHA Drinking Water Program website at http://public.health.oregon.gov/HealthyEnvironments/DrinkingWater/SRF/Pages/spf.aspx. Information on eligible projects and the rating criteria are found in the document titled DWSPF - General Information on Funding (pdf) which is towards the bottom of the page at the OHA Source Protection Fund web page referenced above.

Let me know if you want to discuss any potential projects or if you have concerns with your source water quality. I’d be happy to provide assistance putting a grant “Letter of Interest” together.
