Subject: Coleman River Water Irrigation
Importance: Normal
Attachments: colemans_north_NoSB.PDF; Hi, Coleman has decided to irrigate Section 1 on the North side with river water today 8/3 sometime between 8:30-9 AM. He has an independent line that can be separated from our recycle water lines by a check valve. Section 1 that he is watering for his calves is the same section David Cole recently had questions on and drain directly to the head waters of Creamery Creek. It his intention to water 24 hours a day to green the pasture up. Which could likely produce a visual run-off into that same culvert. Before Coleman started up the line, he and Jake verified the line to Section 1 to verify that no recycled water would be integrated or damage our system by back pressure. To verify this, the check valve from our recycled water lines were closed and no water was seen coming from the hand lines. Next the river water system was started and began pumping water to the hand lines in Section 1, which then were visually seen to be irrigating. I’m planning to draft an email to David Cole to inform him of the change. I will also let him know that we will contact him immediately if anything changes or if we beginning irrigating again in that Section again. David Cole is also welcome to inspect the site to verify the check valve is closed to the Coleman lines and the water is only from Coleman’s private river water line. Let me know any thoughts, Jennifer Cline, P.E. Public Works Director 117 N Molalla Ave. PO Box 248 * Molalla, OR 97038 O: 503.759.0218 F: 503.829.3676
