Below is a record of the conversation I had with Coleman on 7/15 & 7/16.
7/15/2015
· I called Coleman to inform him about the leaky header that runs west along the fence line between Sections 1 & 2, see attached.
· I informed him that hand lines cannot be used in Section 1 until repairs have been made to the heads (i.e. add gaskets and/or replace heads)
· He informed me he was going to turn on his system from the river to irrigate with the hands lines.
7/16/2015
· After speaking with Jason and Jake, I informed Coleman that it is not feasible to run water from the river to his hand lines for several reasons
o There is no way to separate the river water from our lines, and the water would contaminate our water most likely causing the chlorine residual to drop to zero
o The north side has a broken line currently and the back pressure would cause the line to drain
o The back pressure into our lines would create issues with the plant and may cause additional damage to the buried forced main
o SH cannot tell the difference between our effluent water and river water. It also does not protect him from E.coli contamination to creamery creek just because its river water and not effluent.
· Coleman understood my reasoning’s and was willing to not use the river water for irrigation and work with us.
· He indicated to use the big gun or little gun to irrigate Sections 1 and 2 now instead of hand lines. I am hopeful he will repair his hand lines with continued discussions.
