Importance: Normal
Holly, we have an additional question about the biolynceus product we’ve been applying: if we shut off the feed pumps today, what can we expect the half-life of the new biology in our lagoons to be? Will these bugs now live in our lagoons for a year? Or Five? Or will they sort of die out in a month? Or is it even possible to tell without sampling and testing?
Thanks,
Andy Peters

I have some of our science people in the office today. They started throwing out a lot of reasons why you may be seeing a rise in ammonia. Lower temps in lagoon could be causing some of the nitrifying bacteria to slow down, could also be changes to the infiltration/inflow that are causing changes in ammonia. How high is it?

Subject: RE: Ammonia question
Hi Andy,
No, in fact the product is sometimes used to decrease ammonia levels. There isn’t anything in the product that would cause ammonia to increase in a lagoon.

Subject: Ammonia question
Good Morning! We have a question about the product in the MSDS attached, which aw are applying to our lagoons. Has application of this product to lagoon systems been known to increase Ammonia (NH3-N) levels in those lagoons?
We would appreciate any information you may have.
Respectfully,
Andy Peters
