Subject: Irrigation oversight

I’m finalizing the draft amended consent decree (which should be ready for your, Dan and Chad’s review later today) and I was reminded of the following passage, which is in the current consent decree, and in the draft amended consent decree.
The City shall conduct daily monitoring of all active irrigation sites during the irrigation season for compliance with the RWUP, including on-site inspections for ponding and run-off. The City shall maintain records of all irrigation site inspections. Such records shall include the location, date and time of the inspection, any issues identified by the inspector and corrective actions taken (if any), moisture block readings and allowable gross irrigation rate calculations that apply, piezometer readings that apply, the amount of water applied, and any other relevant data.. The City shall also collect and maintain the data necessary to determine the City’s compliance with the NPDES Permit’s standards for recycled water.
The City needs to make sure it is keeping those required records and continues to do so going forward.
