Hi Terry,

There is a process we have to go through with DEQ to get a site approved for land application. Before we can start that process, I want to make sure you have all of the information regarding the application of biosolids. Below is a link to our Biosolids Management Plan. The report is only 12 pages and I encourage you to read the report first and also look at the appendix and specifically pages 62 and 63 for the Biosolids Facts and Agreements.

Once you’ve looked over the document and believe that land application on your site and getting DEQ approvals for land application would be beneficial to you then please contact Jason and I to start that process. If you have any technical questions regarding the biosolids or would like to see the treatment plant please coordinate with Jason directly. The number at the treatment plant is 503.829.5407 and my numbers are listed below. Thanks for contacting us and let us know if you have any questions.

Regards,

Subject: Question regarding municipal sludge

I received the below email from a local farmer (Green Valley Farm) in Molalla. He is interested in municipal sludge as a soil amendment.

Thanks,

Chaunee

Question

Good afternoon,

Several years ago, when I had a field by Canby, I got municipal sludge from the city as a soil amendment. Does Molalla have sewage sludge that they apply to farm ground? I have a 25 acre field that I would like to apply some sort of manure to. I thought you might know, or know someone who does know.

Thanks,

Terry Muilenburg
